Expert Running Physical Therapy in Henrico, VA

You don't have to choose between staying active and getting better. At Bend Movement, our Doctors of Physical Therapy help runners, athletes, and active adults in Henrico get out of pain and back to doing what they love — with one-on-one, 60-minute sessions built around your goals, not a generic plan.

Still Hurting After Rest, Stretching, or Basic PT?

You Were Told to Just Rest

Rest doesn't fix the root cause. Without addressing why you got injured, the pain comes back the moment you lace up again.

Generic Plans That Don't Fit Your Life

Insurance-driven PT often means rushed visits, rotating staff, and handouts designed for the average patient — not you, your goals, or your training schedule.

No One Explained the 'Why'

You've been told what to do, but never why your injury happened. Without understanding the root cause, you can't run confidently — or prevent it from coming back.

Henrico's Running Physical Therapy That Gets Results

At Bend Movement, we don't just ask where it hurts — we find out why. Every session is a full 60 minutes, one patient and one Doctor of Physical Therapy, building a plan around your specific body, your specific goals, and your specific life. Whether you're dealing with a nagging injury or looking for running physical therapy near me that actually keeps you on the road, we're built for athletes like you.

  • One-on-one, 60-minute sessions with the same Doctor of PT — every single visit
  • Root-cause evaluation with running gait analysis, movement screen, and hands-on assessment
  • Stay active during recovery — we keep you moving while your body heals

"Initially, if I ran as much as a mile, I wouldn't be able to walk the rest of the day. After working with Ben for just two weeks, I was already back to jogging. He taught me the muscles and the stretches I needed to address, and gave me the educational science behind it."

5 Stars from Henrico's Active Community

"Dr. Ben is excellent. It was easy to ask him questions and it always felt like he understood my goals. He helped me feel more knowledgeable about my ankle recovery and all the different things I can do to make it stronger. I gained a lot of confidence in my ankle from going to our sessions and doing the exercises at home. Thank you Ben!!!!"

Mary Wagner

"I've done PT at several different places and think this is my favorite as far as effectiveness. Ben carefully examined my foot and ankle and prescribed a set of exercises specifically designed to strengthen that area. After I left, I was able to access on-line videos of Ben clearly demonstrating how to do each exercise correctly. I would definitely recommend Bend Movement Physical Therapy and Dr. Benjamin Klingelhofer for all of your physical therapy needs."

Ellen Armstrong

"Ben is amazing! I own a gym, and I have members who also play volleyball, soccer, pickleball, basketball, or run. In addition to proper recovery, Ben helps you focus on building strength to prevent future injuries. I recommend Ben to all my members and to anyone looking for a caring and knowledgeable physical therapist! Plus he's just a great guy who everyone loves and respects! Highly recommend!!!"

Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions about physical therapy in Richmond? We've got answers.

Do you accept insurance?

We are a cash-pay, out-of-network practice — we don't bill insurance directly. This allows us to offer full 60-minute, one-on-one sessions with no rushed visits or rotating staff. Many patients find the outcomes worth the investment, and we offer transparent package pricing (Restore, Rebuild, Transform) as well as Cherry financing options to make care accessible.

How much does running physical therapy cost?

Individual sessions are $249 each. Our care plan packages offer significant savings: Restore (10 visits / $2,190), Rebuild (15 visits / $2,985), and Transform (20 visits / $3,780). Cherry financing is available. Call us to discuss which option fits your goals and budget.

What happens during my first appointment?

Your first visit is a full Personalized Movement Evaluation — we assess your posture, strength, flexibility, and movement patterns (including a running gait analysis if relevant) to identify the root cause of your pain, not just the symptoms. You'll leave with a clear diagnosis and a personalized plan of care.

Can I keep running while I'm in physical therapy?

In most cases, yes. One of our core principles is keeping you as active as possible throughout recovery. We modify your training load, address biomechanical contributors, and build a progressive return-to-run program so you're never simply told to stop.

How is Bend Movement different from traditional PT clinics?

Every session is one patient, one Doctor of Physical Therapy, for a full 60 minutes — no aides, no shared appointments, no generic handouts. We focus on the root cause of your injury, explain the 'why' behind your treatment, and build your plan around your specific goals, whether that's running a half marathon, getting back to the gym, or keeping up with your kids.

How do I get started?

Book a free 15-minute discovery call. You'll speak directly with one of our Doctors of PT, ask any questions you have, and find out how we can help — before you commit to anything.
